- Wedding: June 2013
So let me start by saying this is all my fault, and therefore can be undone. Thing is this, I was planning a lovely spring wedding with my bridesmaids in ice pink. My little (step) brother is wearing his kilt and Prince Charlie Jacket (he will be a groomsman) So far so good, other groomsmen are in black jackets so…no problem.
Then while writing out my bridesmaids lists I realised my sister’s twin boys (4 yrs) have a tartan as well as three of my junior bridesmaids. So…basically 5 people with 3 different tartans. (Plaids for those of you who dont know what a tartan is)
I also decided to get married in an Anglican Cathedral, a tea for my bridesmaids, reception in an old club, a morning wedding and well, before I knew it things were looking pretty British!–so I said why not incorporate everyone’s tartan. So I thought about waist sashes for the little pages and then considered the idea of sashes (like a beauty queen for those of you not familiar) for the junior bridesmaids.
Then the question…CAN I STILL HAVE ICE PINK? A friend suggested “Blush” a form of pink, I’m open to anything but yellow.
Other thing I thought about for the girls to lessen the impact of the tartan is to give them Tartan Rosettes? OR put tartan ribbons in their flowers OR tartan ribbons (or something) in their hair? So I’m obviously OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS, which could also be to scrap all tartan except my brother’s kilt.
ANY HELP/ADVICE would be greatly appreciated!
