The dresses for my girls are around $150 and the shoes will be whatever is more confortable for them. I told them as long as it’s silver, I don’t care what they wear. Not all of them can wear heels so as long as they have comfy shoes, I’m ok with it.

I think a $200 max is acceptable.  If you can find a dress and shoes that come in around there I think you’re good to go!

When I’ve been asked to be MOH/BM in the past that’s about what I figured I’d be spending on attire before I said yes.

I think you know what your bms financial situation is and should be able to judge how much they are comfortable spending.

I voted other because we paid for our bms dresses and I let them wear any shoe they wanted as long as it was beige/nude. They had floor length dresses so I didn’t care that their shoes were mismatched. I had intended for the girls to wear a pair of shoes they already owned, but all 4 of them saw this as an excuse to buy new shoes. lol.

Mine are speding 127.00 on the dress and 46.80 on the shoes. I agree I really don’t like the look of mis-matched shoes. I think you are right on track with cost.

I’m in a wedding this spring for which the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress was $150. I hope mine will be less.

My girls are spending about $200.  I went back and forth with this and had a really hard time deciding on this, but they all really wanted these dresses.

We did an infinity dress made by an etsy dealer (katesy if anyone is interested.  She is awesome!!). The reason it was so expensive is the color that I am doing and the type of fabric I wanted, because it needed a liner, so it wouldn’t have even been that expensive if I had chosen a different fabric. I discussed it with the girls and they were all okay with spending that amount of money because they all really would wear it again! (I found the holy grail of bridesmaids dresses!!) If it wasn’t for that, and for all of them telling me to please order that one I would have kept it under $100.

I had the bridesmaids buy their dress and it cost about $150 but some of the girls needed slight alterations so they paid for that as well. As my gift for them I bought them shoes (so they would all be the same) as well as earrings.

Dresses are $139.  I hope they all buy shoes that match, but I’m not forcing them to, as long as they are the same color.  I bought them earrings.

Mine are $220 and even though they picked them out I feel bad that they are so pricey and decided that I will pay for 1/2 of their dresses and get the jewelry as the Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts.

My 3 BMs are wearing knee length chiffon dresses and they were $99 from David’s Bridal. They fit the girls so well that they really won’t need many alterations – they want to wear these crazy 4″ heels from DB (I have 2 inch heels and that’s high to me lol) and they are about $35 from DB which will be dyed. My Maid/Matron of Honor dress is a floor length chiffon dress and it was $99 as well. I think $200 max (for the shoes and the dress – and alterations if you can fit them in too!) is a fair amount of money to ask a Bridesmaid or Best Man to pay. And getting them a little extra gift is icing on the cake!
