We shopped at a few places in the city - had wonderful experiences at both Jenny Yoo and at Coren Moore (we ended up buying there). Priscilla of Boston, I have to say, was a kind of crazy and weird experience, I wasn't a fan of their service. (I'd also looked for bridal gowns there and had a weird experience). I'd definitely recommend going to either of the first two!
Also, I hear a lot of people rave about Valentina bridal here in Brooklyn, but I have never been and cannot speak from experience.
I also went to Jenny Yoo and was impressed with their selection and service. They didn't end up having the right color in the fabric that I wanted, but the dresses are really nice.
I also went to Bella Bridesmaid -- great service but smaller selection of dresses and some were pretty pricey.
Personally, I would avoid Here Comes the Bridesmaid (www.bridesmaids.com). I went on a Saturday and it was a tiny store filled with huge bridal parties. It was totally overwhelming and their dresses weren't in great shape. It would probably be good if you knew exactly what you wanted, but I couldn't take it for just browsing/trying on lots of styles.
I'm getting my dresses at Priscilla of Boston, but I'm working with the store in San Francisco.
Good luck! :)
Hi! I got my bridesmaids dresses from Macy's - they have a wide selection of styles and sizes, and they have dresses that my BMs might (hopefully) wear again! Good luck!
Thanks for all the suggestions!
@Hamster - Your post today was very well timed for me! :)
Some of my bridesmaids bought their dresses from Nordstrom's JS Boutique. Dresses are very high quality and some are under $100. They come in all sizes.
The wedding library carries: Two Birds, Amsale, Lynn Lugo, Badgley Mischska, and Thread.
My mom got her mother of the bride dress at the designer loft in nyc - they were very nice and had a big selection. We went with a Siri dress as a lot of the other designers dresses just felt kind of cheap. Plus - the Siri stuff was very fashionable but also had a lot of options for sleeves/jackets/etc. if some of your girls are more modest.
not sure if i'm too late but i'd recommend priscilla of boston. the sales associates aren't the greatest but the dresses are gorgeous and were under $300. both my moh and my bm's got their dresses there. they offered a 10% discount but i think the discount is higher, the more girls you have.
we went to adrienne's (and had a nice experience despite what i had heard. nice selection just didn't find THE dresses there), bella bridesmaid (much pricier and they were very snotty to me unfortunately but other people i know had a good experience there), here comes the bridesmaid (tiny store, packed with people and dresses and an overall overwhelming experience) and jenny yoo (beautiful dresses also pricier. almost got my moh a dress there).
hope that helps and sorry if i'm too late!
I went with Priscilla of Boston as well, after not liking anything at David's or RK (which is sooooo not fun). (NONE of my BM's make very much $$$). Yeah, the staff is weird. But when the company canceled the dress that my 4 BMs were going to wear, the NYC store was really helpful with making sure all of them had been measured and ordered by the deadline. Everything worked out - whew!

My sister is coming home for her long christmas break, so I'd love to start looking at bridesmaids dresses here. Where should we look? We want to stay under $300, and we need a designer that makes dresses for all sizes since my girls range from a size 4 to a size 18.
RK Bridal is on our list, Adrienne's is off our list, since I've heard terrible things about their bridesmaids store.
I don't drive, so I'd prefer stores in Manhattan or Brooklyn.
