So I’ve purchased way-spa gift certificates (taking advantage of their 22% off offer) to cover the costs of Mani/Pedis for my bridesmaids the day before the wedding.
Should I just keep the cards myself and use them to pay day of OR should I give them to the girls with a note saying they are to cover the cost of the Mani/Pedis?
What do you think?

I think it isn’t a gift if it is something to be used for your wedding. It’s a gift if those cards are given to them to use at their discretion.

I agree if it’s for your wedding I would just hang onto them yourself and use them to treat the girls to mani-pedis for your big day. It’s still a very nice gesture.

Keep them and treat your friends. Giving them out just to ask them to use it the same day is not a Gift.

keep the cards and treat your girls to the mani pedi. it would feel much nicer that the bride treated me to that rather than ‘here’s a piece of plastic that will cover it’ and then have to go up and pay myself etc. i think it’s awkward to know what a gift cost – you wouldn’t leave the tag on a gift, so why have the front desk woman tell her how much her services cost and have her do the whole ‘i have a gift card…’ thing.
i used to manage a spa and that’s always awkward. especially if you’re going to have 2, 3, 4 girls do it in a row. just pay up front with the cards when you arrive (so you don’t mess up your nails after!) and tell the girls it’s been taken care of so you can all relax after your services.
