I had three bridesmaids and that was already 2 1/2 years ago....
I gave two of them ipods and a gift card to itunes. The third I got about $400 worth of mac makeup (my MOH is a makeup artist and gets a FAT discount
). I also paid for their dresses, hair, makeup, etc.
WOW, Mrs. Bee, i wish i was your bridesmaid!! ![]()
I bought my girls their dresses & shoes and i'm planning to get them small gifts. if i have $$ left, i'll pay for their makeup, but with a six-woman entourage, i definitely don't have it in budget to pay for both hair and makeup for all of them.
Since I have a "team" of 3 very different personalities, I decided to get each girl something different. One of my friends loves to travel, so I'll get her some travel accessories - passport case, luggage tags, journal. There are some really cute styles out there from brands like Belle Hop and Lodis. I'm leaning towards Belle Hop.
Another one of friends just got into wine. I can't afford to do a wine of the month gift, so I'm still investigating how to put that gift together. My other friend just bought her first apartment. I know she loves picture frames especially those by Jay Strongwater. They are a tad expensive but if I find one on sale, I'll definitely buy it.
And I'm also getting each one a pair of earrings. I found some cute ones at Maggie T New York. I can get a different one to match each personality.
I'm thinking of getting my girls tote bags stuffed with goodies - some flip flops in my wedding colours so they can kick off their heels and dance at the reception, and I haven't decided on the other goodies yet. Some ideas I might use (I definitely won't use all of them) are: scented candles or lotions, travel eyemasks, beach towels, sunglasses, a book/magazine each girl would like. I was thinking of picking a theme like "a day at the beach" and stuffing the tote bag full of all the fun stuff they'd need to keep them entertained for a day at the beach to relax after the wedding.
I am thinking of getting each gal a peice of jewelry from a local designer...I need a fun jewelry travel case to pair with it - anyone have any recs?
i bought their dresses and shoes and am taking them all out for a spa day/manicures/etc. the day before the wedding.
i got each girl a big, fluffy, super-soft full length robe and a pearl necklace and earrings.
Just a Matron of Honor for me, my little sister. I'm "giving" her two free hotel nights at the wedding hotel using my hotel points. Frankly, she's thrilled with that idea!
I had six girls total as well! I paid for most of the costs for their dresses (all for a couple of them that I knew were short on cash), which were custom-made; I bought the fabric, patterns, and notions and the girls took the supplies to seamstresses. Costs ranged from $50-90 per dress to have made. I also bought them reversible Jeanne bags from www.1154lill.com, so one side of the purses was uniform, and the other side unique for each girl. I stuffed some makeup and little knickknacks inside and that was it!! For the MOH, I added a pearl necklace from Na Hoku as well. Hope to give you some ideas!
I had the idea of giving each of my 5 bridesmaids a tote bag with a few gifts and such in them like jewelry and personalized items. I would love to buy their dresses, but am afraid of how much it would cost if i gave them everything I wanted to.
I did find this great site for tote bags though, it's elisalou.com She has a lot of great fabrics you can choose to customize tote bags to fit their personality.
I got each of my 3 bms a pearl drop necklace, customized small bags from 1154 lill, and a little candle set. Also treated them to lunch the day before the wedding.
I'm just here to steal your ideas - I will definitely be using elisalou.com that alli suggested - thanks ladies!!
Christine,
I forgot to say that I contacted elisalou about using their totes as bridesmaid gifts and she told me that brides get 20% off. So if you use them it's definitely a nice bonus! I think she prefers to be contacted through email about orders from brides so she makes sure it's all together and correct, just wanted to make sure you know!
Alli
Hi, all,
These are great ideas. (I'm completely floored, because elisalou's "Mums" fabric is the inspiration for my whole wedding!! Now I can go crazy getting matching bags for everyone!)
I just ordered one of my ladies a fantastic scarf from this site that makes GREAT graphic scarves and can customize them, too. (Note they need 4-6 weeks.)
Happy shopping.![]()
My mom and I designed and made a necklace/earring set for each of my bridesmaids to thank them for being such a wonderful friend. I tucked this inside of a leather photo box along with some other small goodies: fun socks (believe me, my girls are fun-socks-kind-of-gals!), notecards, a hair towel wrap, etc. Then the boxes were wrapped in a giant gift bag that they can use to keep their belongings together on wedding day. Add a personalized luggage tag, and voila!
I got my three girls ivory pashminas, sterling silver starfish necklaces, and gorgeous compacts from Estee Lauder. And, I will defintely add luggage tags since everyone is flying from overseas for my wedding (thanks for the idea, Jana!)
I have 4 bridesmaids- 3 close friends and my sister. I got them each a silver jewlery box engraved with their monogram that has the wedding day jewlery inside from Things Remembered. Good Luck!
I got each one of my five BMs a cute Apron from Anthropologie and I am making a 20 page mini cookbook of my favorite recepies to put in the pocket of the apron :)
Each apron is different but this one is my MOHs

What are you giving your bridesmaids for a gift? I have a "team"' of 5 close girlfriends and my sister. It's very casual (everyone can wear whatever they want, etc.). I was thinking of having a jewelry-desiging friend make something for each of them but now I'm thinking of a classic silver hinged bangle, possibly with something engraved inside like "thanks for being part of the team!"
What are you doing?
