So this is my dilemma! my plan was to get nice jewelry for the bridesmaids with sone deep red accent since their dresses are bourdeaux that they could wear again even on casual clothes.. a friend of mine told me to check on etsy.com…so i did… i found this seller that had really cute handmade jewelry and one of those was cream pearls with ruby crystal, and i thought it would look perfect with the dresses..so i contacted her..she seemeed to be really nice.. i told her if she could have made some little changes on the necklace and erarrings and if she could add a bracelet too, total of 4 sets..she agreed and she gave me a price of 30$ each..GREAT! she sent me a pair of earring for free to see if the crystal color would match the swatch i have, and then she sent me a pic of the final product…i liked it and i decided to purchase the first set just to make sure that the lenght of the neckalce and stuff was ok(THANK GOD i didnt purcahse all of them at once).. this was back in january 20th..since then i never received the package she said she sent on january 21.. i contacted her a couple of times with no answers…not to mention that her “shop page” on the website is gone… then last week i reported her on the website and ironically she contacted me half hour later telling me she was out of town for a funeral..fine..i felt like an idiot because i reported her and because her loss was more important than my jewelry… this past week i emailed her 3 times and nothing so far… im ready to get my money back.. i cant wait to write her a last email and tell her that im done with her and that she can keep those 4 sets for herself (that she said she has ready to go, which i dont believe it is true)…
sorry if i had to write all this but im really frustrated cause i spent 30$ for nothing, i thought i finally found jewelry for the bridesmaids and that i took care of one more thing…but i have to strat all over again!
my question is..where i can find jewelry that is not too expensive, that looks sophisticated since the wedding will be really formal, and something that the girls would be able to wear again in other occasions??? my budget is from 20-35$

Have you tried contacting the admin of Etsy about this seller? Maybe speaking to PayPal about getting the money back? I can’t remember what the policies on PayPal are anymore but it’s worth trying.
I don’t know of any places to look for good jewellry in the states but if I think of anywhere then I’ll let you know.

littlemissmoo– yeah i reported her on [email protected] and almost immediately she answerd me back telling about her loss and that she had to leave for the week..then she realized i reported her and it sounded like she got offended, BUT then she kinda apologized since she was the one that didnt communicate with me and didnt wrote a notice or anything on her shop page… that etsy policy..
i will just contact paypal to get my money back and im not going through etsy again because i really dont feel like opening again an “investigation”
Jizes318– yeah i looked at ebay and DB nothing really i liked..UGH!!!!
artbee–that is probably what i will ending up doing!!! but it is soooo frustrating!!!!

Have you tried Avon? I got my bride’s maid’s jewelry (necklace & earring set) from there. It already came in a box so no muss, no fuss on the wrapping. It used to be $32 but I waited for a few months and it went on sale for $8 for the set! Score! =) I have a friend who sells Avon so I just bought it from her. I combined the jewelry set w/ a scarf (bought at the mall), and a small clutch bag (bought from etsy). I’ll buy the paper bag and tissue from the dollar store (different colors based on their fave colors) and I’ll write a thank you note for each of them (I have 4 bride’s maids) & put it in the bag as well. I’ll give it to them during rehearsal dinner night. Cheap but personalized.
Hope that helps!
PS: Notify etsy regarding the bad merchant. Leave bad reviews if you can. Keep all email exchanges you had for proof.
