Does anyone have pics of bridesmaids wearing gray/silvery dresses? I am probably going to be ordering silver dresses from the Jim Hjelm line, but I'm nervous that they'll be too light. I'm going for more of a platinum/pewter color, and I'm afraid that they'll come out more actual silvery white. The store only had the fabric swatch of the color silver for me to look at, and it's hard to imagine a whole dress from that teeny swatch!

    Thanks bees! :)

@Rosie Girl - Is that a purple heel your MOH has on?  Do you know where it's from?  I'm still searching for the perfect purple heel!

Well, this is the stock photo of my BM's dresses. In person it looks just like it does in the picture. It is more like a pewter but the color is called 'platinum'

@moderndaisy: siiigh, I love the PoB dresses. That was the exact color I wanted, but my BMs couldn't decide on a dress from there. That one is so cute though! How long did they say it would take for the dresses to come in?

@Rosie Girl: see, that's a nice, medium shade gray! That would also totally work with the color scheme I have in mind. Very nice dress, btw!

@hilsy85 - I hear you and to be honest I didnt' even ask my BM's if they liked it, I just chose it. All of my BM's have body types to pull it off and the dark silver is such a neutral color I knew it would be fine. The price is right - it was $160 after the 15% discount since I bought my dress from POB. I was actually originally going for Navy, but when I saw this color in person I knew it was perfect and I was less than impressed with the blue dresses.

POB is weird, you definitely still have time to order from there, but no matter how early you order, the 'factory' won't have your dresses arrive until about 4 weeks before the wedding. So if you want them earlier I would suggest lying about your wedding date, I wish I had done that.

@moderndaisy: I REALLY wish I had just done that. Just said, okay we're getting our dresses from PoB, and that's that! I LOVE almost all their BM dresses, and I'm sad because I feel like it's too late now...but you're giving me hope! Maybe I'll take a look through the website again...did you have your girls try on the dress before you picked it, or after?

@hilsy85 - it's funny b/c when I first got engaged I was sending them pictures and asking for opinions and I only got "Looks great!" responses. Oh, they did veto the 'choose your own dress' idea I had. So finally I just looked online at POB and saw this style and fell in love. I thought it was dressy enough for my formal wedding, but still bridesmaidsy enough with the bow and pleating.

The reason I chose Platinum is b/c one of my BM's was randomly visiting from OOT and suggested we go try the dress on. I'm so glad we did - I hated the blue and loved the silver. If I were you I would call your local POB salon and ask if you have enough time to order a BM dress. Good luck and i love your choice in color! :)

@moderndaisy: I just called and they said it takes 10-12 weeks to come in, so I definitely have enough time :) We'll see what happens!

@hsearle-  I love that dress.  I see it in all the magazines and I seriously just want to buy one to have for myself.  You never know when you need to wear a floor length gown!

What do you guys think of them? Should I stick with them or try to find something different at Priscilla of Boston?

I think the Jim Hjelm silver looks beautiful!  I don't think it looks too light at all.  If you're worried about the color, can you ask the bridal salon to provide a swatch?
