Our colors are black and white and I was trying to go for a traditional wedding. But with women on the grooms side and our date being Halloween It’s not very traditional 🙂 I have been looking for black bridesmaid dresses, stuck on this idea! I came across white floor length chiffon dresses with black sashes that I love and I’m fighting with myself about getting them. What do you think? Whit for the girls or no?

@KittiLove: Sounds cute to me! I think it’s a look that, if done right, is gorgeous.

It’s your day I say do what you want. I think it would be cool if I attended a wedding were the bridesmaids and groomsmen were in white, but the bride and groom were in black. I’ve actually been to a wedding where it was requested that guests dress in white and of the bridal party and bride and groom were in bright bold colors. Which was amazingly fun.
But if you are wanting traditional in my opinion black dresses would be more appropriate for bridesmaids over white.

@ceebree: The first one look almost like the dresses I want. Mine would be strapless. I think I just may have to do it 🙂

Traditionally bridesmaids were dressed in white similar to the bride to confuse anyone that might want to kidnap the bride – or something random like that.
I like the white dresses but feel their a bit too bridal. I know on my day I’ll want to stand out. I’d go for black dresses but if your set on white dresses go for something shorter.
Love the black and white theme 🙂

@KittiLove: I think white would be beautiful! I was MOH in my best friend’s wedding and her colors were black and white. She had us wear two-piece dresses with white satin skirts and black deep-v lace halter tops. It looked very elegant.

Kate Middleton had this, bridesmaids were traditionally in white anyway. Pretty sure Khloe Kardashian did this as well.

I like it with the shorter bridesmaids dresses,. The first pic the bride blends in too much

I say do what you want. That said, if I was getting married on Halloween (and I’d LOVE to) I’d do black dresses with orange flowers.

I love this idea and have been considering it myself. I am looking at a tan colored Vera Wang gown and think that white bridesmaids dresses would compliment it nicely. After seeing the all white wedding parties above, I think this is an even better idea! It looks stunning with the white bridal gowns.
