Maybe they ordered online or from a different store?

You know, little kids lie about stupid things that don’t really matter because they are afraid of getting in trouble. Grown women…? I’d be pissed too. If they didn’t order them, they should have jsut said so and you all could have worked something out. Lying is just pathetic.

@MrsRedPumps:  to me “life” is no excuse… they should have told you upfront, even if something was happening preventing them from getting them on time they should have talk to u. You chose them for a reason I hope that they realize wat an honor it is to b chosen amongst avarious group of ppl. Honesty is the best policy

@MrsRedPumps:

I can understand why you are so upset. It was completely irresponsible of your bridesmaids to do that to you.

I would tell my friends to go drive the 6 hours to pick up the dresses. It’s not fair that the other bridesmaids spent the money and did the responsible thing.

I’m sorry that happened to you. Which dress is it?

Why not email Dressilyme or Jasmines Bridal and ask if they can remake the dresses for you?

@MrsRedPumps: I don’t think that particular dress is very complicated so if you want to find one that will mesh with the other two I think it is possible. It’s up to you whether or not you kick the three girls out because they have been really irresponsible, but if you do this it may be something the friendships cannot recover from so you might want to sleep on it. If you do decide to keep them in the party you can have the girls alternate dresses standing next to each other so at least there will be a pattern so your OCD doesn’t go off the charts.

@MrsRedPumps:  Wait, it’s a black dress? Why not just do the mismatched thing? Pick out a few other dresses that are black, and maybe alter one of the “good” girl’s dress so that it’s different from the others.

The good thing about black is that black is black. Anything black in a similar fabric should be the exact same color. Just for giggles, you should make the new, individual dresses the “bad” girls buy more expensive. 😀

Man, that is awful! I almost always side with the wedding party on these posts, but I totally understand your frustration. I think you need to give yourself a couple days to cool off before kicking anyone out of the wedding party, but that is always an option.

For the remaining dresses: Are the bad bridesmaids volunteering to make the drive? Because it sounds like you are planning on doing that. I think they need to make it up to by making the trip. If they aren’t willing to, then maybe they don’t want to stand with you.

Another option is to post the heck out of The Knot, Weddingbee, etc. and see if you can find some second-hand dresses. It’s worth a shot.

Perhaps there was a concern with the cost, but they should have told you instead of not ordering. Just remember that at the end of the day, no one will be looking at them– all eyes will be on you.
