I would let each of them choose their own black dress. I think it's nearly impossible to find one dress that looks fantastic on 6 very differently shaped women. For some uniformity, choose a fabric and a length for them to all stick with.
I have the same problem. However, my colors are lavender and eggplant. I have chosen A-line type dresses because they are the most flattering on any type of body. The two dresses I have chose I have seen on fuller figured people (but only in pictures) and think they are flattering. We are actually going this weekend so the girls can try them on. You can find a pic of one of them here. I have both styles featured on my wedding blog.
My ladies are all different sizes. Here's the link, just scroll down. my girls are all different sizes and it is eqully flattering on all of them

Me too! Mine are tall and thin, tall with large hips and busty, short and average sized, and short and very busty... I wanted everyone to be comfortable and feel pretty, and selfishly I didn't want anybody's tatas in my wedding pictures! I thought about choosing multiple dresses, but my good southern mother couldn't get used to the idea. I went with a Jasmine Belsoie: http://www.jasminebridal.com/J_2_1_1_1.aspx?sqno=JPN2008092510635&j_style_no=STYL20080821006&j_line_no=LINE20080821016&j_line_season=S. They came in on Friday. I'm still waiting for my "hippy" girl to try hers on, but I think everyone is happy! Just pay attention to length (tea length not so flattering on shorter ladies with thick calves for example), stomach fit (how clingy it is, etc.), and bust coverage.
During our 3 days of bridesmaid dress shopping, we found that a slight v-neck, with 2 - 3 inch straps, a-line skirt, knee length was a great option! The neckline and straps will help anyone who is bustier, but is also flattering on a smaller figure. The short length helps show some leg and make the dress a little more fun! We ended up buying the dress below in black and I think they all feel very confident about themselves when they're wearing it!

I have the exact issue! I think what will end up happening is that I will be selecting colour, fabric, length, and the designer. My BMs can choose whichever dresses they feel most comfortable wearing.

I have six bridesmaids of all shapes and sizes...thick, thin, tall, short, busty, curvy, etc. I've decided to have black dresses because I think they're classy and also because no one looks bad in black. What style of dress is most flattering for nearly any body type? I'm totally at a loss. I don't want any of my bridesmaids to be uncomfortable on the big day.\
Any help would be appreciated!
