@engleman10513:  I guess you can’t control other people. Maybe they won’t get the dresses in time. Maybe they won’t be in the wedding. Maybe it won’t matter at all as you will still get to marry the man of your dreams. What is really important? Over your long, long happily wedded life you’ll have to let lots of things go, and this is just the first thing. They are big girls, you have given them the info, now let it go.

If you’re not requring them to buy a specific dress, then they can literally walk in there a day before the wedding and buy whatever they see off the rack. Ordering a dress a year or 6 months in advance for this would be a little much

@engleman10513:  Venting is therapeutic.

What’s the worst that can happen?

Even if all three don’t order their dress and thus choose not to be in your bridal party, you will still have 3 bridesmaids and they can attend as guests.

Don’t confuse their lack of action with not caring about you. This has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.

@DJones69:  not necessarily.  If the BM likes a certain dress, Davids might not have the proper size and color. Not to mention if they need to schedule aterations.

OP : I feel for you. Hopefully they will get off their butts and order a  dress already. Mayne you can set a deadline and ask each individually to have a “girls day” with you to choose the dress. Good luck!

@engleman10513:  Vent away! We are here to listen. The most important thing on your wedding day (aside from marrying your perfect guy) is to be surrounded by people who are going to support you in your marriage. The people who are going to fulfill that important function will be there for you.

@DJones69:  Disagreed.  I mean, it’s possible, I suppose, but unlikely for DB to have a dress in their exact size and the right color the day before the wedding.  Especially depending on the color.  And at this point, OP is looking at 3 months before the wedding, and it looks like these BMs are the people who will push this off til it’s too late.

But you bring up a good point.  OP, this isn’t “do or die” phase yet.  I’s think you have another month before you should really worry.  Yes, these BMs are frustrating, but DB tends to have decent turn-around time for orders.

Rita probably has bride’s brain and is finding it hard to remember details outside her own wedding.  Olivia doesn’t really seem to be an important BM anyways.  And Wilma just seems stressed about finances.  Maybe she’s always late because she always has to work?

@LovelyLaura:  It’s a dress you wear once. You go in, you find a dress, you buy it and wear it. Alterations can be done in a host of places almost immediately. How do I know this? Well…. we’ve done it. Multiple times.

@Apple_Blossom:  Really? Because on multiple occassions we’ve gone in and said we need a dress in XXX color in size X. So long as you’re not particularly picky, you’ll find SOMETHING. They have racks and racks and racks of dresses.

@engleman10513:  I didn’t mean for YOU to go around with them and the day before wasn’t literal, but if you need literal…

There’s no reason why they couldn’t go the week before the wedding BY THEMSELVES and find a dress.
