I’d go as neutral as possible so that they get a long leg line and the shoes fade away. If you spend some time on wedding blogs, look at how horrible the photos are of the maids with big dark shoes.

I agree with the neutral color shoe. The dresses are pale pink, and I don’t think black would go too well. A gold shoe could also work. Strappy gold shoes are pretty easy to find nowadays.

I wouldn’t ask your friend to wear heels if she isn’t comfortable with it. because really, do you want her to trip when walking down the aisle? I’d pick a neutral color, either gold or silver depending on your dress/what jewelry the girls will wear, and let the girls pick out their own shoe. I don’t get the need for matching shoes anyways. Each girl will be comfortable and can find shoes in their price point. Plus, you are putting the ball in their court so its one less problem for YOU to deal with.

You should really set color guidelines for them.  Don’t let someone decide that they want to wear black if you know it won’t look good with the dresses.  There’s a lot of options out there!

If you don’t particularly want them to wear the same shoes, tell them to buy gold/natural-colored, dressy sandals.  You should probably give them a few suggestions too because you don’t want one girl’s shoes to be right for the occasion and another’s right for a day at the beach!

I like the idea of nude heels/sandals/flats!

Another recommendation for a nude shoe. Let them pick their own style and everyone can be happy.

ps I would suggest you pick a color of nude though- go to the paint store and get a paint sample card that is the color you like. Have your girls get something as close to that as they can. That way you won’t have “nude” shoes with different underlying colos- like pink, brown, grey etc.
