She can contact the Etsy shop to see if it’s even possible that the dress is made and shipped to arrive within a month.  But I think that’s reeeally pushing it.  At the risk fo sounding insensitive, she should have been able to tell you two months ago when it was possible to fix the dress (or order a larger size).  You may need to make the hard decision that she will have to sit as a guest.

If she is important enough to you that a dress doesn’t matter, see if you can’t find a super similar one at a local store and she could wear that one.  Just a thought!

If you can get a backup dress, I would do it. I actually had a similar situation, but since it was my MOH, it didn’t stand out that the dress was different.

ETA: did she actually TRY to have it altered? Depending on her height, 10-15 pounds might not be a huge size difference. It sounds like she needs to actually have someone look at the dress and see if it can be fixed.

If she can get it on her body but it won’t zip, you can always cover the gap in the back with a shawl. Not a huge deal.

I sincerely hope you don’t take PP’s advice to demote her out of your bridal party because she’s struggling with her body.

Meant2Bee:  Perhaps post a picture of the dresses you ordered off Etsy.  These Bees are GREAT at research, and may be able to find something comparable that she can buy, or order from elsewhere?!?!  No, it will not look identical, but hopefully close enough…hopefully…

Meant2Bee:  she refused to get it altered?? thats crazy. For 2 weddings i was MOH in, i ordered the dress 7 months ish before the weddings (they were very close to each other), and i had rapid weight gain after getting off a very low calorie diet, i gained 45lb and a magician of a seamstress was able to let my dresses out enough for me to fit in them. Sorry, your BM is making this wayyyyy more difficult and stressful than it needs to be. but i guess its too late to convince her to get it altered if its already on its way to china :/

Meant2Bee:  Those are pretty!  It should be easy enough to find something similar at a local department store or boutique.  Here are some cream colored dresses on modcloth: http://www.modcloth.com/shop/cream-dresses

Meant2Bee:  Well, off the top of my mind, I went to David’s Bridal, and tried to color match with the dresses you posted, then searched by short dresses.  This was the outcome:

David’s Bridal may be able to rush order. I know without a rush order, I have gotten BM dresses in two weeks, or so.   I will keep researching!

Edit:  Just saw that is NOT your color, but they have a bazillion swatches online!
