What gets me is: why would they agree to be portrayed on TV like this. They must know that the show is named "Bridezillas"?
I have no idea! Part of me wonders if it is fake or quasi-staged. I mean, do people REALLY act like this?!
(again, still appalled & still watching!)
Maybe they get paid or something. Or get free stuff for their wedding? Or they are really just shameless?
There was a discussion about this on the boards earlier this week. My theory is that the producers pressure them to act a certian way. I had a couple of friends on dating reality shows and they were constantly told how to act and what to do by the producers. On one of the shows the producers even threatened not to air the episode if they didn't do what they said. I think these women just really really want their 15 minutes and are willing to look like total crazies if that's what it takes.
My FI actually caught part of an episode and got hooked for several episodes in a row. It was pretty hilarious, but I couldn't stay in the room long.
I know for sure they get a free honeymoon out of the deal and who knows what else. I guess some people will go to whatever lengths to get free stuff for their wedding...even if it makes them look like a total looney toon!
one bride was literally screaming at her man, he just took it I found that odd then wondered if she was acting; she called him an idiot and his family stupid

I figured there had to be something free involved! I just can't imagine acting like that when the whole NATION is going to see. Do they think about the people who weren't at the wedding, like co-workers and stuff, seeing this afterwards? Crazy!
I also just can't understand why people go on the show... They must know they are going to be portrayed like that. Are there really that many people who are happy to be seen as a crazy bridezilla???

LMAO they get $4000 plus a video. Or if you dont want the video they give $5000

I think they do get something for being on the show. But, Mr. Bee, they all know the show is Bridezillas, and if you watch the show long enough (yea, I've seen a ton of it, what?) you will see that most of them are PROUD to be Bridezillas. They 10,000% believe that it is THEIR DAY and that gives them the right to be rude monsters to everyone else.
My FI thinks a lot of it staged for the camera, but there is no way I'd agree to act like a maniac on national television, then have people think that's how I really was. I think a lot of these women had personality disorders in the first place, so becoming a bride will only make them truly cuckoo bananas.
I have heard they hire actresses...but that might be a rumor.
Some of them are just awful!
Ok, I am late to the party I guess.
This is the first time that I have actually watched an episode of Bridezilla and I am sitting here in shock.
Never have I ever wanted to reach through the TV and slap some sense into someone like I do right now. These woman (ahem brats) are out of control.
This show cant be real? Please tell me these people are putting on a show.
Well, I've learned that they are only compensated IF their segment airs! So, they could go through all of that & not get picked. Which is why they play up the crazy - to get the money!

Oh My Goodness!
I have never seen this show before tonight (yes, I'm watching WE TV by myself on a Friday night. so?
). I CANNOT BELIEVE these women! I am appalled, yet can't stop watching all at the same time.
Does anyone watch this show? It is a freakin' train wreck. As I'm sitting here watching, I realize how thankful I am that no one in my life is like that. I can't even imagine acting they way they do on my wedding day!
