They’re beautiful!  Good for you for finding rings which accord with your values.  We went with a young local jeweller who’s just setting up because supporting the local community is important to me.  She sources non-conflict diamonds too.  We spent more money going to her than we would going elsewhere, but I feel that we concentrated on things which were more important to us than sheer finances.  Plus we’ve got a great relationship with her too now.

@Oxfordnerd:  Yup, I’m marrying in the Quantock hills in Somerset.  Whereabouts will you be getting married?

@Oxfordnerd:  Ooh, ooh, which college?!  I did my undergrad at Magdalen.  Two friends of mine got married there this summer just gone and it was beautiful!  I also attended another friend’s wedding at Worcester and it was also incredibly beautiful.  I’m also praying for the weather – our ceremony’s supposed to be outside and while there’s the possibility of a plan B, the inside space in which you can marry won’t really be big enough for all of our guests.

@clumsylawyer:

Oh, Quantock Hills are beautiful. (There’s a great wine wholesaler up there, Quantock Abbey, so I made a trip last time I was in England.)

@Elvis:  I grew up in Somerset, so I used to spend a lot of time up in the hills as a kid.  When we saw our venue, we knew it had to be there really – it was so reminiscent for me, and is actually only 2 miles down the road from where Mr CL and I met! Embarassed  I’ve never been to Quantock Abbey – perhaps I’ll have to drop in when I next go back to visit my parents.
