Welcome to the hive Southern Tulip! So glad you joined us.
I think when deciding upon food, it's important to not only think about what you serve, but also the formality of your event. From your description of you venue and times, it sounds like this type of food would work. And I personally love breakfast food, so I as a guest would be excited.
In general, just think about whether the menu will "fit" into the feel of your wedding the right way. :)
Oh, yum! I'd be psyched if friends of mine had a brinner reception. Definitely go for it! It will be a memorable wedding, for sure. (Ooh...can you have passed mini-sausages wrapped in silver dollar pancakes?)
Thank you so much for the kind responses. I don't know that we're having a "formal" wedding by any means, but I also wouldn't say it's casual. It's in a southern mansion, with a black and white (light pink accents) theme. Definite focus on dancing and having fun.
Would breakfast "fit" the "feel" of my wedding?
Haha sorry, SouthernTulip...looks like my response was a little too vague.
I honestly think you're fine. It sounds like so much fun and I don't see how any of the guests could NOT like the meal you're serving!
yum. breakfast-for-dinner is one of my favorites!

Hello everyone!
I'm a long time lurker, 1st time poster. Love the bee!
I needed some advice and opinions from all of you lovely ladies.
We're having our wedding in October in a Southern Mansion style home in the early evening (3 ish ceremony, ending reception around 8 or so). We've gone back and forth trying to find a good caterer, and we're having trouble. A lot of dinner reception style food (we're thinking heavy hors d' ourves - however you spell that) I don't eat (picky eater) and the caterer is very expensive.
Something my FI mentioned is why don't we have Brinner catered by our fav place to eat, Flying Biscuit (my favorite, and for those of you who don't know what that is it's breakfast for dinner). Breakfast is my favorite types of food and it's kind of a family joke (kind hearted) that I would have it at my wedding.
We can't change our times to do a brunch type thing, so that option is out. So basically what I'm asking after that long spill is if you went to an evening wedding and they had breakfast food what would your inpressions/opinions be of the event?
Thank you!
