So this is random…
I have a brita filter, brand new, about two weeks old.
I pulled out the actual filter today to look at the bottom and some of the usual black dots (the charcoal) had changed to a light grey/green color.
Does anyone know what this or if it’s safe to use? I’ve been scouring review sites and haven’t found anything. Thanks!!

Huh, that’s odd. I use one too, and I’ve never noticed the grains turning gray– even after a few months of my 3 roommates and I using the thing with a single filter. Maybe you just got one with some odd bits in it? If you’ve been fine with the water coming out of it up till now, I’m sure it’s fine still, but if you don’t feel comfortable using it anymore, you can always switch to a new filter (although, they are expensive. . . the generic ones are a little cheaper and are the same though!).
