ooh, interesting. I’d have to put some thought into it, but I know my mom wanted “Sunrise, Sunset” for her first dance song when she got married (for some reason, it reminded her aunt of her cousin who had just passed away, so they went with something else.)

I’ll be back if I can think of some good ones.

Here Right Now from Ghost the Musical (West End not Broadway but amazing!)

Cheek to Cheek from Top Hat (SO wants to do our first dance to this, but I’ve not told anyone but you)

I will keep thinking, I am a theatre lover but I wouldn’t want anything too show-specific.

I have always really loved “The Next 10 Minutes” from The Last 5 Years. You’d have to cut out the beginning/end, but it’s beautiful.

Also “I’d Give it all For You” from Songs for a New World…although it’s long, and there’s probably a bit too much “story” to it.

‘Til there was you–Music Man

In Whatever Time We Have–Children of Eden

This is the Moment from Jekkyl and Hyde

Just some thoughts…

I really like “For Good” from Wicked. I know it’s sung by Glinda and Elphaba, but I think it works for any kind of deep relationship.

“All I Ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera.

“When I First Saw You” and “Love You I Do” from Dreamgirls.

“Without Love” from Hairspray.

I really like this idea! Good luck!

@Jess1483:  I was just going to suggest The Next 10 Minutes – just thought of it 🙂

Electricity from Billy Elliot.  Very passionate but not a “love song”.  It’s written by Elton John, you may prefer his version to the musical since the actor has strong geordie accent in the official cast recording.

With You from Pippin (SOs favourite musical)

I Will Be Loved Tonight from I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change

As Long As You’re Mine from Wicked.

There’s one on the tip of my tongue and it’s bugging me!

For a recessional: “We Go Together” from Grease? Though that may be just a bit corny…

How about Don’t Be Anything Less Than Everything You Can Be from Snoopy! The Musical for the father-daughter song? It’s fun, though maybe difficut to dance to.

Love is a Question Mark from Taboo

I don’t know if you want to go this direction, but for father-daughter, maybe “I don’t need anything but you” from Annie?

I suppose “Not Getting Married Today” from “Company” is out of the question, Wink

curious…. are you doing anything else broadway themed for your wedding besides the songs?

My fiancee and I are having musical theater as a loose theme to our big day.  We were going to have “can’t take my eyes off of you” from jersey boys until his uncle sang it at his cousin’s wedding and we haven’t come up with another song.
