I would go to enttra nyc they have really nice things..its in the garment district.
lots of places in the garment district; dont go to bridal boutiques, thay are way jacked up
I got my stuff in the garment district b/c I live here! Definitely second that. Try stores on 6th ave btw 37th and 38th: I got a gorgeous hairpiece for $70. Let me know how it goes!
Ditto the garment district - just walk around, you'll find something. If you're looking for vintage check out Pippin on 18th. They have really reasonably priced things. I have a gorgous faux gold cuff from there that cost $25.
I had planned on doing wedding stuff in the garment district today too! Unfortunately, mother nature and I need to have a chat (and a smack down fight) about her behavior...this weather is unacceptable! Thanks for the advice ladies! Anyone know a spot to get a cathedral veil?? Kleinfeld tried to sell me one for $700. Im sorry, I am NOT paying that for a piece of tulle Ill wear for like 35 minutes. Kisses
Hmmm for veils I've heard good things about Bridal Veil Falls in Alphabet City. Supposedly they custom make and they are not too expensive. I am planning to check it out at some point.
i recommend these inexpensive and simple veils: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6156483
I've heard good things about Sposabella Lace. They are on 41st just below Priscilla of Boston.
Hey NYC ladies!
Just wanted to say thanks for all the suggestions - and to make a recommendation to anyone else who is in the market for jewelry.
I ended up buying my brooch at a trimmings store on 38th street for $15. I decided to splurge a bit more on the earrings and bracelet since they *could* be worn again (the chances I would wear a brooch again...pretty slim.), so I ended up at Tejani and had an awesome experience. I had seen them listed on the Knot as a bridal jeweler, and apparently they are based out of NYC so they have a showroom where you can try their entire line on. I busted in without an appointment Friday after work (ok, so...maybe you should make an appointment), and was helped by Urvi the owner/designer of the line. She was fantastic and gave lots of great input on what I might like to consider. And when I foolishly ignored her advice...she was more than happy to have me back today to exchange my earrings and bracelet for those that I should have bought the first time around! Everything in the bridal section was around $90-$250 depending on the piece. The site is www.tejani.com if you want to check it out.
Thanks again for all your help ladies!
Walk around 9th street in the East Village... there are so many little shops with inexpensive, vintage looking, unique jewerly.
i went to 6th ave btw 37th and 38th this weekend and had a great time poking around. in the end i went to macy's and found my earrings there! (macy's is not usually my cup of tea on the weekends.) they had two brands, givenchy and eliot danori, that seemed to have a good selection of bridal jewelry (mostly $30-50). do go in person, though, because they have a bigger selection in the store than on the website.

Hi Ladies!
I've looked online for jewelry fo quite awhile, but realize that I'm not 'pulling the trigger' on buying anything because I simply need to see it in person first.
There isn't technicallly a 'bridal district' here in the city, but I'm curious if anyone knows of a bridal store that has a particularly large selection of jewerly. I'm looking for pieces that fall in the $60-80 range, specifically a rhinestone and/or crystal brooch, earrings and bracelet.
I'm thinking I'll stop by RK today (if this downpour stops), but Kleinfelds seems like a waste of time due to my budget. Any other ideas? I seem to be coming up empty at the department stores.
Thanks!
