I am the MOG and I am making 6 of them. Get your family florist involved…I bought a ton of brooches but I can’t make 1 tulip look good in a vase! I just thought now what!..How do I put them together?? Bouquet=Florist. I walked into the greatest Florist I know and she was wearing vintage cluster earrings clipped to her sweater and said to myself “I’m in the right place” She almost fell over when I showed her what I was up to…The rest is history. Sometimes you just have to have the professionals do their magic after you did yours.
Yes Ebay was one my main sources and yes the prices of the enamels was out of sight. You have to be careful and go after the 3 or 4 enamel brooch lots at a time. You will never win the 100 enamel lots (unless you are doing just 1 bouquet then go for it). LOOK FOR “BROOCH LOTS” to cut to where the quantities are. Also don’t be a snob about the word “vintage”..When they are all bought and picked out then put together you will not know one from the other.
We are using about 60 to 65 avg. per bouquet. Your bouquets really don’t have to be that big. Remember they have to be finished off with ribbon..I’m thinking of using my vintage satin/linen napkins…again my florist will fall over.
I would never have known anything about these if I wouldn’t have seen them on my soon to be wonderful daughter in laws blog thirdcoastbride.com I asked her if she wanted them because I would love to take on the task! She said YES!
REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN…
