I'm looking for inexpensive brooches for my bridesmaids to wear with their sashes. Can any of you recommend a website that sells inexpensive ($15-$20) but nice brooches?
Miss Coconut just did a post on this not too long ago. She recommends the site she used for brooches, pugster.com. Here's the link to her post- http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/06/01/brooches-cost-how-much/ I poked around on the site, and while some of the jewelry wasn't my style, I agree that there are definitely some great finds at reasonable prices!
I just bought one on ebay today from Ebay . Now I just have to wait for it to ship out. Its coming from Hong Kong, but I've bought other items from Hong Kong and have had them mailed to me within 2 weeks. Weeeeeeeee!
i bought mine in the wholesale district in manhattan for $6-$7 each! vintage-looking w/ crystals/rhinestones. i see you're in SF - maybe try chinatown...?
I got pearl brooches for the moms from eBay for great deals. I think most of them were under $10. I got a different style for each of them and I think they all look great.
I was looking for the same thing...I happened to find some really great big mother of pearl earrings on sale at a store, and took the earring back off, hot-glued the pieces together to cover up the hole where the wire was, and hot glued a pin back from Michael's on the back. The earrings were on sale for $6/pair, and the pin backs cost about $1...so less than $20 for six brooches, and about 10 minutes of work.
They look great, so don't be afraid to think outside of the box if you don't find something you like!
