Check out the Brooklyn Historical Society – that is a beautiful building but it’s been closed for renovation the past year (i think it should be open in time for yours though)

Also The Old Stone House (though I don’t know how many people it can accommodate): http://theoldstonehouse.org/

We didn’t go with it, but Galapogas is a really cool space. www.galapagosartspace.com

There’s also Roulette – which is a restored old theater, that could be a cool space.

Another place I’ve heard mentioned is the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture, but I don’t know how it looks or much about it.

Where in Brooklyn is your reception?  This would help a lot — depending on your location, some Manhattan locations would be closer than what I’ll recommend in Brooklyn.

But in BK:  Are there indoors ceremony locations at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens or other parts of Prospect Park? Gowanus has a lot of amazing event spaces — as does DUMBO (Powerhouse Arena, I second Galapagos, you might even want to contact Two Trees realty because there are a lot of post-Sandy open areas [like the old Bubby’s] that are empty and perfect by 2014) — that might accommodate just a ceremony.

Location would help – thanks!
