Is it out already? I just started seeing previews for it. I think it looks like it could be great, but I often get into "film major mode" and critique films until I hate them. I really do want to see this one, though!
Plus, I love how they cast jake gyllenhaal and tobey maguire as brothers since they've been linked so much in the past.
Haven't seen it yet but I can't wait to see it! It does look very intense.
Looks like a great drama! Toby looks creepy in it! I love Natalie Portman. Did you see the one commercial where the little girl screams at her dad!
I want to see it. I like all of 'em, especially JAKE. It does look a bit intense so I might wait until it comes out on video and rent it via Netflix.
we're seeing it this sunday with a bunch of my girls! dying to see it, love tobey, natalie and jake! bringing some tissues in my purse along with a bunch of chocolate, i hear its a real wrist slitter its so intense and emotional!
I did end up seeing it last night... the story is kind of weak, but the emotion brought out by the cast is incredible. It's hard to explain. I would totally recommend it. It's feels very real because you just know there are lots of men & women who return from war after having been through a lot. Your heart really goes out to them & their families.
1/2 of the movie I was crying or smiling & the other half I was hiding my face in my hands! It was an emotional roller coaster, but I'd totally watch it again. Tobey Maguire is INCREDIBLE in this film.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Tobey Maguire seems so meek in real life, but in those previews - good lord, was he ever intense! It might take some work, but I want to try and convince my fiance to see it with me.
I saw it last night too. I agree the story wasn't the best part of the movie, but the actors were incredible - especially Toby Maguire. I definitely recommend it.
... I have no idea what this movie is about, but it sounds SAD! Cannot handle it, especially if it's about deployments! The groom in the wedding I went to today will be deployed next June... :(
I can't wait to see this movie!! One of our groomsmen is in it; his character's name is Yusef but I'm not sure how big of a part he has.

FI's friend keeps driving me crazy by saying its like Pearl Harbor just current. I'm sorry... I have to say that I disagree with that. lol
@Noelle: Yusef was the leader of the terrorist cell, right? Baaaah I hated him in the film- so your friend did an incredible job! :) If its the guy I'm thinking about he has a pretty decent amount of screen time in the film!
Contrarymary: Yes his character's name is Yusef.
Recessionista: I'm not sure what his part is in the movie, other than he's a terrorist. He doesn't talk too much about it....he's so humble. But now I'm REALLY excited because this will he his first big part in a major film!
Ah here is a pic of all the groomsmen. Unfortunately he's the blurry one (to the left of my very bald husband haha) but maybe you can tell me if he's got a big part or not based on his smeary looking face.
Edit: I guess I should have said to the left and behind my bald hubbie.

@noelle: He's the terrorist leader! That's so cool! haha most of the scenes he was in I just didn't look b/c it was pretty intense. He was also recently in an episode of Flash forward too (my fav new show!)

Is anyone planning on seeing this movie?? I am considering seeing it tonight... but I'm on the fence. I have a deep love for Jake Gyllenhaal, but this movie looks intense!
