my soon to be hubby danced with his sister at her wedding to "A friend to me" by Garth Brooks.
Since I have no father or uncles in the picture I am having my two sons, 21 and 19, walk me down the aisle. So of course I am doing a mother/son with each of them. For my youngest, we will dance to "Closer to you" by The Carpenters and for my oldest, we will dance to "I'll Be" by Reba McEntire. Like your song, the words are very fitting for each son, and I have no doubt Im going to be bawling like a baby! Good luck!
I'm dancing with my brother as well! We're dancing to Elton John's "your song." We're also having the father/daughter and mother/son dances at the same time (more of a family dance.) This helped me feel like I wasn't replacing my father/daughter dance, but instead doing something different.
thanks for the help ladies! I'm still choosing and also asked my brother if he had any ideas as well, he's having my SIL (his wife) to help choose to, so we can see what we come up with. :)
I am also dancing with my brother, due to my father's passing, I need to work on a song too, I say if you like the song, and it is touching and bring out good emotion for you then it doesnt matter if you are a big country fan or not. It's a beautiful song!
dave matthews "sister" is a very pretty song... FI may dance with his sister to this song since his mother passed away a few years ago.

Hi bees,
So I am thinking of songs for my reception, focusing on the brother/sister dance instead of the father/daughter dance.
My father passed away when I was 2, so my only brother, who is 16years older than me, is going to walk me down the aisle. We will also have our own dance at the reception but I'm not sure what song to pick. I was thinking Rascal Flatts- My Wish, even though I'm not a big country fan. The words seem to fit well and I listened to it and I cried my eyes out! :P
Do you have any suggestions for this? and any suggestions for the mother/son dance? I could use some help with that one too. lol
