Welcome!
I like the color combo. I think it will work especially if the dresses are a light material and you keep your flowers very summery. I would have the men wear brown suits with coordinating green ties.
That sounds lovely. It would be fun if your bridesmaids did that color combo and wore shoes that really popped. I would do charcoal or light grey suits for the guys with skinny ties that match the bridesmaids' sashes.
Love the color combo - and I definitely think it still works for a summer wedding...I say do what makes you happy (my main color is yellow and my wedding will be in January!)
As far as the guys go, my vote is for brown suits. I love the look of them!
i think the brown/honeydew combo is really nice, and i think you can do whatever you wnat in any season, it depends on your preference. have you thought of any ideas as to what the rest of the decor is going to look like to match the brown/green theme? if you're concerned about the color combination looking very "fall", then maybe for the other elements in your wedding (flowers, linens, etc.) you can use more of the green rather than the brown. just an idea.
We're doing chocolate for our June wedding. Don't even worry about choosing season appropriate colours because in the end, you should have what you want.
As far as the groomsmen, we're thinking of having the guys wear dark brown tuxes.
I think brown is fine for that time of the year. For the guys, I would suggest brown tuxes. Or black tuxes with brown vests/ties.
Sounds cute! Our colors are chocolate brown and aqua, accents ivory and antique gold. In the end, we actually ended up going with a antique gold bridesmaid dress...guys will wear chocolate brown, and my dress is 'light gold' (warm ivory) with aqua shoes, hair fascinator, earrings and crin.
I think brown dresses would be totally fine at that time of year. I tihnk you could do dark brown or even lighter brown suits on the guys. I've also seen black tuxes with brown dresses and it didn't clash as much as you'd expect.
Mens Wearhouse has a chocolate brown tux. My guys are wearing it. J Crew also has a great chino suit thing that's very popular out in California if your wedding isn't so formal.
But a black tux with a brown vest and tie works too. Then I would Have the bootineers be honey doo green colored to tie the sashes in to the ensemble. It will be great! Love the color combo.
Brown is so hot for bridesmaid dresses right now!
I think it's a great color combination. Brown and black actually don't clash as much as you'd think they would. My BM are wearing a latte color and our guys are in basic black, next to each other they look very clean, simple, and classic.
I'm thinking brown bridesmaid dresses for a wedding in April and I wore a brown bridesmaid dress for a wedding in February. I think it worked just fine and as long as you are happy with it, then great! The guys in the Feb wedding wore kahki pants with no jackets, but it was a fairly informal wedding.
chocolate brown dresses will look great in July! What about putting the groomesmen in a lighter suit (grey) with a brown tie? That way they would still coordinate!
This is my FSIL's wedding. I thought I'd show you a pic so you would know that brown dresses and black suits look fine...this took place in June. I believe the dresses are David's Bridal's Truffle.
Hey! I just went to a wedding last weekend and the bride had chosen knee length brown bridesmaids dresses. They were from J. Crew and very cute. I did think they needed that extra splash of color but I think brown would be great for a July wedding!
I would suggest a khaki colored suit w/ a green tie for the guys. I was going to go with brown BM dresses but I did not like how it looked with black tuxes. Brown and green are my friends wedding colors -- we're wearing brown dresses too. I think the pop of green makes it nice for a summer wedding!
@lisalulu - do you mind sharing (if you know) how much the Men's Wearhouse brown tuxes were? My fiance is thinking about choosing those, but he's worried they're too expensive.
My guys are all wearing the Brown tuxes from Men's Wearhouse with pink vests, and my gals are wearing pink dresses.
Don't worry about color appropriateness-- its your wedding and you can have whatever you want! We're having our wedding in January and my colors are pink and chocolate with white and green accents.
Brown suits are also nice depending on how fancy you want them to look. I love your color combo--i think brown dresses with the colored sash will look lovely, no matter your wedding month!
Brown bridesmaids dresses are beautiful any time of year! Alfred Angelo makes a fantastic dress in those colours - I almost bought them for my girls (our colours changed.)
Here they are, in case you're still looking. I'd head out and buy it for myself, if I had an occasion (you know...other than the wedding).
Enjoy, good luck!
I think it will look nice. Our colors were chocolate brown and baby blue for our June wedding. Here is a picture of my BM:

Hey Everyone!
I'm planning my wedding for next July and have decided that I want my colors to be chocolate brown and light green (like honeydew.) After looking at dresses online with my MOH we decided that we like the look of knee length chocolate brown dresses with a light green sash. First, do you think that brown dresses will work for July or is it too fall-ish? Second, if we did go with brown dresses, what would the groomsmen wear? I feel like the typical black tuxes would either clash with the brown dresses or the whole look of the wedding party would be too dark. What does everyone think?
