Rum and coke?

Honestly, the drink doesn’t need to match the color scheme. Nobody will care/notice – it’s just a lot of effort for something with little to no impact. Go for a drink with wide appeal/drinkability instead!

you may want to stick with something with coke as the base for a dark drink.  if you start mixing fruit juices and coloured liqueurs to get a brown colour, it may just look muddy and unappealing.

i would suggest a california root beer.  it’s very easy and really tastes like rootbeer.

1oz kahlua

1oz galliano

2oz soda water

2oz coke (cola)

build on ice.  stir.

You could always go for a mostly colorless cocktail and make brown food coloring one of the ingredients. Though that might make for a weird experience while drinking it. Dessert cocktails with chocolate liqueur would be your best bet here, but I would hesitate to go that route because most people can only stomach one, if any. They tend to be super sweet and heavy. I guess it depends on how much of this cocktail you plan on providing and how much you expect each person to drink.

An Old Fashioned, Mint Julep, or a Side Car, classic cocktails that most people enjoy. Not too sweet.

I am from Colorado, and we have a drink called a Colorado Bulldog that is GREAT!  It is kind of a light brown. It’s like a white Russian but so much better!  Popular with the strong drink likers, beer drinkers, and fru fru drinkers.  Even if you don’t use it, you should at least try it!

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  1. Pour the vodka and coffee liqueur in an old-fashioned glass filled with ice.
  2. Fill with equal amounts of milk or cream and cola.
  3. Stir well.
