We are using Bassett Caterers, and have been really impressed by them so far. The prices were the lowest (by far) that we found, and we went for a tasting and the food was delish! At their prices, all I wanted was edible, but they far exceeded my expectations! If you want tiny, beautiful portions, this might not be your best bet, but if you want yummy value, I highly recommend checking them out. They are based in Sheepshead Bay.

Also check out JPO Concepts catering, very reasonably priced (getting married at the W Loft)

We used Bassets as well and the prices and food were great. Just make sure that the catering manager that you are speaking with is able to actually be at your wedding. We found out at the last minute that some complete stranger was there and they ended up throwing out extra food, including our cake topper!

It depends and most caterers normally include the costs of rental chairs, tables, linen, silverware etc. you could opt to rent them on your own but unless you get a DOC the day of you will need to take care of setting up the rentals. It’s more convenient to get them from the caterer
