- Wedding: June 2010
I had the idea just now to put baskets of pastries and mini muffins on the guests tables, because they might want something to nibble on before the buffet opens. We are having the toasts right after we’re introduced, so people will have to wait, not to mention with 200+ guests, even a two-sided buffet will have a line.
Still, I know my mom will say that we are having plenty of food and that people won’t be hungry because there will be passed hors d’oeurves at the cocktail hour, which is true. Still, I think it would be a nice touch. Something like this:
Of course, my mom is paying for the wedding and will say that it is too much more money. I was thinking instead of having our caterer do it, we could just buy a whole bunch of pastries and muffins at Sam’s the day before and put them in baskets ourselves. Our DOC could set them out while the ceremony is going on. Still, that is giving ourselves more work during a time that will already be very busy! So part of me doesn’t even want to bring it up.
What do you think? Is it a good idea or just an unnecessary, time consuming addition?
