Anyone have recommendations for Sunday brunch locations in Destin? I am having a Farewell brunch the morning after my wedding and I am looking for options.
Some good breakfast/Brunch places in the Destin area are The Broken Egg (SanDestin) and Another Broken Egg in Santa Rosa. Blue Orleans is really good, it's in Blue Mountain Beach. I believe that the Red Bar does brunch and they have great food. It really depends on how many people you have and how much you want to spend. Also, if you want the whole place to yourself or a private room or just out in the place with the crowd.
Thanks. I'll check those things out. I am not sure how many people but perhaps around 50. We don't need a place to ourselves but we want to be able to have seating in the same general area. The idea is to have an optional no-host brunch gathering the day after the wedding so we can see our guests off before they leave for the weekend. We are expecting around 150 or so at the wedding but only a small portion of those people to stay around and attend the brunch.
By no-host, do you mean that everybody would pay for their own meal?
If that's the case, I think you'll have a hard time finding a place that will let you reserve such a large group with separate checks. The places that I mentioned don't have private rooms and aren't very large, so I think to fit 50, you'd have to reserve the whole place. Not sure how that would work. Where are you getting married in Destin?
Depending on what time of year it is, an open brunch (ie no reservations, people come in and out) might be a little tough. Your best bet would be to have it at a hotel where your guests are staying, though I'm sure you'd rather have it somewhere with local character!
Some great spots are the Donut Hole (one on Hwy 98 on the main drag in Destin, another out on 30A towards Grayton Bch area) and Another Broken Egg Cafe (2 locations in Destin)- they're a little more casual but can have long lines.
Royal B (Dickie Brennan's Creole-Cajun resto) is also yummy for brunch, a little more formal, and you'll probably want to reserve at least two tables and hope they'll let you 'rotate out' people as they come and go!
Red Bar does breakfast, and not only is it delicious but it is also inexpensive. They do not take reservations. Blue Orleans is delicious, but expensive for what you get and I don't think they have room for 50 people. You could also try the Santa Rosa Beach Club.
