Have a safe trip... I actually live near KOP but sadly I cannot think of anything off the top of my head at the moment other than you visiting the KOP mall. My fav place to shop.
Let me see if I can clear my brain from all the work related junk to get you an answer.
OK... Definitely take a trip a few minutes away from KOP to see the Valley Forge National Historic park. It is so beautiful. Usually they have tour guides on the weekend so you can learn about the history of the park and learn about George Washington's stay.
I also think at the Valley Forge Convention Center they are having the home show. If that kind of stuff interests you, go there.
PS: Downtown Phoenixville (my current hometown) also has some great restaurants and bars and thats about 10 -15 mins from KOP.
Bryn Mawr has some great shops and restaurants and it has a neat little part to walk around in. King of Prussia is largely the mall and Valley Forge. Definitely get to Valley Forge. It's supposed to be a nice weekend here, and you can go for a hike, run, or just sightsee and enjoy the scenery. You're probably also near Wayne, which has some good bars all close to one another to go to at night. PM me if you want more details :)
Go visit Wayne! It's such a cute little town -- and has an Anthropologie, too :)
I looooove 333 Belrose (in Radnor) for a lunch spot. And pop into a Hope's Cookies -- there are a bunch on the "Main Line" for a sweet treat! PM if you wanna chat more about spots. I went to college right in the same area, so I know it well!
Yes, I second visits to Anthropologie and Hopes Cookies!
@ MRS. (yay!) Bruschetta - FILs are hosting our rehearsal dinner at 333 Belrose. I can't wait - we've had wonderful meals there!
I don't know your tastes but one of my favorite stores is in Wayne - The Flag Lady. They have great jewelry, Lilly Pulitzer, Vera Bradley stuff, and just fun gift stuff. Oh yeah- and garden flags, hence the name.
Wwo tahnks for all the ideas. The weddign is early in the day with a few hour gap, so we're mainly looking to fill those few hours in Bryn Mawr (We're the ceremony is) and King of Prussia (where the reception is). I'm hoping we have time on Sunday to go to a few of the clsoe by towns your all mentioning!
How far is Wayne?
@lotam240 the flag lady sounds so cute!
@Bruschette, your making me hungry!
@ NN: Wayne is just about 3 miles from the Villanova church -- I lived off-campus there my senior year.
& @ lotm240: I second YOUR recs -- and thanks for the "yay." :)
Basically if you stay on Rt. 30 (Lancaster Ave) and head west from Bryn Mawr for a few miles, you'll be in the center of Wayne. Enjoy your visit!
Spent the best four years of my life at Bryn Mawr College. I highly recommend Tango!
I second downtown Phoenixville! Bridge St has some wonderful restaurants.
@RoddyBride09, you live in Phoenixville?
Thanks for all of the suggestions! The ceremony and check in lasted longer than we thought, so we ened up only having a little time and went to a chain across form the hotel. I think we'll go back for another visit though. So these will help in the future! The weddign was at Villanova and it was the nicest ceremony I have ever been to. The priest gave a beautiful sermon. The town is gorgeous too, if it didnt rain we would have stuck around longer on Sunday, but ended up leavign after the morning brunch.
