It depends on the look of the dress. My dress actually has one and it’s awesome looking. Do you have a picture of the dress?

Really depends on the dress. Fabric, shape and the way the hem falls.  I usually prefer straight to bubble but I’d have to see a pic of the dress because sometimes they are really pretty.

My dress comes with a bubble hem, and as a person who HATES bubble hem, I’m head-over-heels in love with it! It makes the dress really versitle when I go to sell it. I’m very short (5′-2″) and the hem can be pulled up without actually cutting any fabric. I’m also doing the ‘nacho-bustle’ and having it turned into a bubble hem in the back when bustled. The dress has so much bounce and movement…it really is awesome.

I say it’s worth pinning the dress up and seeing if it works for your dress.

I wouldn’t. The dress is visually interesting enough without it.

I would! It kind of looks like mine, and it would add something to look at at the bottom. Just like pp said, it gives a lot of bounce and movement to the dress.

I actually think a bubble hem would be really pretty on that dress

So I voted no and then got ready to write that I think bubble hems are trendy and you shouldn’t make the change, then realized I hadn’t seen many bubble hem dresses. I decided to do a quick search first and I’ve completely changed my mind. After seeing your dress I think it would look awesome with a bubble hem!

I think if it was a really subtle bubble hem, it would look nice. Like, if she did the ‘pleats’ of the bubble really far apart from one another. Otherwise I’m afraid it might cheapen the dress.

Could your seamstress pin the dress to show what the bubble would look like?

I think bubble hem on this would look great. It would just finish off the dress and add something to it.
