The lampshades are vellum paper, which can be found in any craft store and with a little DIY they can be much cheaper!! Vellum paper even comes in different shades and designs, and you can print on it with your inkjet printer!
Yes but Knapper you HAVEN'T seen me try folding paper or origami have you?? (giggle)
If you could try a DIY of this it'd be great! I just think these are really cute! Iknow I could NEVER get the accordion pleats just right!
I once tried to make an origami crane and well..let's just say I've never tried that stuff again.

haha! I didn't realize the accordian pleats, I thought they were just striped. That would be a challenge!!
How awesome!! That's kind of what I'm making for my centerpieces. I am printing a damask print onto the vellum paper though. I was so exciting when I saw how easy the shades are to make!! I'm also sprinkling clear confetti diamonds and a black fleur de lis punch out around the lamps. I showed my mom and sisters this last weekend and they loved it!! I'm so excited!!!

I was looking for something REUSEABLE and elegant for parties we're going to have and let's face it, for something that could double for a rehersal dinner too!
Originally I went searching for floating candles and where to find a floating wedding cake (like the one from the awesome Engage 09' pics Mrs. Bee has on Weddingbee Pro) and I came across this little gem on a search site. Didn't find the wedding cake or the pool floats, but searched also for unique table ideas..and it just JUMPED out at me!
I love this. It's super easy. Wine glass luminerias! These table goodies cost $9.99 for 4!
