BurlapnLace:  I agree, that seems really steep for that.  Have you thought about maybe a few stems in the jars/vases and then candles?  I had mostly candle centerpieces, as I also wanted to spend under $1K on flowers!

DIY! I’m not sure what your generally idea, but I am purchasing huge bundles of baby’s breath, hydrangea (sort of expensive), garden roses, wax flowers and an assortment of other things for less than $500. This will make our bouquets, center pieces, decorations, boutonnieres, etc.

Yeah I’d definitely just buy some bulk flowers and do that yourself. You can probably do all of them for under $100.

BurlapnLace:  I ordered flowers from Sam’s Club online (125 roses for $105 including shipping) and DIY’d my bouquet, 3 BM bouquets, and 10 centerpieces.  I spent less than $20 on floral tape, ribbon, and pearl pins to wrap the bouquets.  I spent another $8 at Ikea on 10 silver tin buckets to use for centerpieces.  I spent $4 at the Dollar Tree on floral foam to put in the buckets to hold the flowers.

We did all of the flowers the morning of the wedding but honestly they looked even better the next day so we oculd have made everything the day before the wedding.

i’d DIY for that cost. if you want, i can look up what kind of flowers they are and find them on fiftyflowers (which is fantastic, by the way)?

DIY! Costco also has wholesale flowers. I’m planning to get mine there as well!

I made my own bouquets and it was way easier than I thought it was going to be.  Buy some cheap roses from your local grocery store and do a test run if you’re not sure.  At the very least I would say DIY the BM bouquets, centerpieces, and altar flowers that way you can splurge on your own bridal bouquet from a florist.

We’re using fake flowers and using live babies breathe to add more of a real look because they’re so much cheaper. Good luck!
