I did the same thing! :) I found the best deal by far was to watch ads for Hobby Lobby and only purchase from them when the section was 50% off. :) They are always doing 50% off floral, and they just had 50% off wedding supplies where we got our cardbox, guestbook (both totally unplanned but we couldn't pass up the price) and some other odds and ends. :)
bellagio you are correct..Hobby Lobby does 50% off ALL bridal once a month...can't beat it..why pay full price today when you can get it half off tomorrow?!
vmblai1019 you do the same!! I have friends/family that are already married and they are in aww by the money I have saved planning.
I have been needing mirror tiles..specifically 12" octagon shaped beveled ones.. (15) of them. They run about 6.99 each. Well they are on sale at Joanns this week for $4.89 plus my additional 20% off coupon!! An easy savings of more than $50!! #winning!! LOL
really!?! WOW!!! I also use coupons from those places/buy when items are on sale. I haven't kept track of what I could have spent vs. saved, but I'm sure it's a lot!
Not to mention that many times they will honor ads from another store so if you can only find it at one place check to see if they honor competitor's coupons. I just got 20% off my total order at Joann's with a Michael's coupon.
That is some awesome savings right there!! I've probably lost half of my receipts by now, but I should totally do this :-D
I've just recently started on all my planning and that's a great tip! Btw, I've never heard of Hobby Lobby until Wedding Bee. Their website shows they'll be opening up several stores in Cali. Is it a craft store like Michaels or different? Is it cheaper?
That is amazing an amazing savings! I am a fellow budgeteer and love to hear when people use sense rather than cents.
its like Michaels but it has a better selections in my opinion and much better sales.
The girls that work at hobby lobby get worried when I am not there for a week lol, last time I was there they told me that.
i've used ac moore coupons at michaels because theyre usually 50% off during the weeks michaels only has 40% off coupons. we don't even have an ac moore in colorado. the closest store is is north carolina? plus you can use both a 50% and a 40% on the same transaction. if the sales associate sale no, ask them to review their policy book or get a manager.
I've been at Michaels every week almost since I started wedding planning. Michaels takes online coupons so I just pull it up on my iphone before I head to register too! I just google what they have and use it. Normally it's 40% off one item or 20-25% entire purchase! It's great and saves paper.

I have been planning for my wedding for almost a year now and will be getting married in a little more than 2 months. I signed up for web mail on Hobby Lobby, Joanns Fabric, Michaels, and AC Moore. Every week I get a coupon emailed to me from each store...some times 2 or 3 and I will determine what is on sale where and go for it! I have kept every receipt from wedding purchases because I am determined to make this thing happen all while saving some money.
*today Joann's has 2 coupons 40% off one regular price item and 20% off entire purchase including sale items!!!
I created a spreadsheet and listed each purchase (sale price/regular price). As of today..with very little to still purchase I have saved a whopping, $2317.42 from using coupons and buying what is on sale! And this is only for the decor!
