(Closed) Budget Day of Coordinator?

This sounds like it would fall under the job description of a day of coordinator, but I’m sure each DOC has their own ideas about what they will/will not do.  Have you looked on Craig’s List or put up a flier at a local college?  I know the school I graduated from had an interior design program that might have students with enough design sensiblity to pull all of your ideas together.

We are on the same boat, we did a lot of DIY and pretty much my DOC will handle things that day we are paying $500. Just make sure you outline/make a list of the things you want her to take care of and make sure you know what thier fees are for extra work. I found ours on craigslist and we are meeting today but all the fees and duties have been layed out already.

I just hired a month of/day of coordinator for $1100. Depending on where you are located you may be able to find one for $500, but not where I live. This is an investment, so price didn’t play a huge part in our decision.

I am available to be a day of coordinator. I have 2 recommendations of friends that I coordinated their weddings the day of specifically. They had a to-do list of DIY things that they had done. I have even needed to play the bad cop with certain people that wanted to change things at the last minute.

I’m an experienced interior designer and very crafty person who is very detail oriented. I would love the opportunity and I’m very willing to work within your budget.

Does your location have one? Mine does….I also have a bridesmaids’ fiance helping (they live far away and she’s glad he’ll have something to do while we’re all taking pics before) and a friend of mine helping out before also. This other friend is actually staying with the BM and her FI, so they’ll all be there anyways, right? They’re more than happy to help. Have things organized as well as possible. I’m literally boxing things up by table so they don’t have to figure out what I want. To-do lists, etc. It sounds anal, but then they don’t have to read my mind!

You should post on the classifieds here if you’re looking.  A lot of women (and men, maybe!) who are looking to get into the planning/coordinating biz will take you as a client for SUPER reduced OR FREE (which is what I’m doing as I build my client base)  Good luck and if anyone needs help in the DC/MD/NOVA area you let me know 🙂
