What about this color (on the left–Waterscape):

Paint the ceiling back to white. New light fixture, maybe this one? I would probably swap out that faucet, too (I like this one). I would measure off that mirror and get some unfinished trim (like baseboard trim) and paint it (probably white) and attach it to the mirror like a frame. You can put something decorative and functional under the open side of the vanity, like a basket with toilet paper or towels or something, as well. Get some wall art (you can find some nice free printables and put them in inexpensive frames from Ikea or the dollar store), and a nice set of accessories (toilet paper holder, towel bar, soap dispenser). Maybe put a small basket on the counter, as well, with travel size hair spray, bobby pins, hair ties, etc. for convenience?

definitely need to get ride of the painted ceiling!!!! yikes definitely go back to white immediately!

I like the waterscape color suggested… I just did my bathroom w palladian blue from benj moore and I love it the best out of the 6 rooms I had painted

these are all similar:

and I think the idea of trimming out the mirror would make it more modern looking

I would leave the cabinet white (fresh coat if it needs it)

@knsmith86:  A soft, sophisticated gray is always nice. You can also frame out the wall mirror with some inexpensive trim to add interest and maybe switch out the light fixture.
