I need some advice from fellow weddingbees! Looking for a venue within 1-1.5 hours from LA, that allows BYO catering (and ideally, BYO alcohol as well) for a 150-person wedding.
My dream would be an outdoor open space for the ceremony (something like Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu, or something more wooded and rustic like a summer camp venue) that also has an indoor space in walking distance for the reception (could be a barn or just an indoor space like a banquet hall).
Are there any public park spaces near LA that also have indoor venues suitable for a reception? Or historic sites/museums that have nice outdoor spaces for a ceremony?
We want food trucks, so would need to be accessible for food trucks and not too far from LA.
Looking for something under $5k for the site rental.

You have to check out Tropical Paradise in Camarillo. It’s our venue and when we first walked in, we knew it was the one. It’s absolutely breathtaking.

@socalbridediyer: We did ours at Cabrillo Marina in San Pedro, CA I think total it was $2700 and it’s all BYO plus we got the $500 deposit back so it was actually less.
It’s not super rustic but it’s right on the water, there is a beautiful lawn and patio type area under huge trees for shade, also attached is a hall/room that has a kitchen, restrooms and it’s got french doors and windows because we hated hated hated ball rooms. It’s got a huge parking lot, FREE for guests etc. so I’m sure the food truck thing wouldn’t be an issue. Also it’s behind the double tree hotel so it’s super convenient.
Hope you find something! http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-plaza-at-cabrillo-marina-san-pedro

She works with a bridal pampering service too http://www.darbystouch.com that is super affordable if you book both of them I think you get 20% off both.
