So it has been quiet a while since my wedding but I wish I would have stumbled upon this before when I was planning my wedding because I had a candy buffet and I so wanted the big beautiful apothecary jars... but Because of the budget I had and not wanting to spend $30 or more on one jar we  only used 2 small ones that I had around my house and borrowed and repurposed alot of vases and such I had around the house.

When looking for repurposing decor tips ( i am obsessed right now with recycling and repurposing) ) the other night i stumbled upon an idea that I fell in love with and made me research some more .

So none of these pictures belong to me they have been collected online these are DIY apocathery jars on the cheap! (It wont let me post pictures right now but Ill be back to add some pictures) I totally plan on making some of these for around my house though.. Bc they can hold so much more than candy and they are Super affordable and easy

The basic Idea is using Jars with Lids  (any type recycled or store bought ) as well as vases and either glass or wooden candle sticks, Painting the candle sticks and finishers (if desired) to your liking  and glueing them together with  Glue and waa laa. Pedestal Jars & Apothecary Jars.

Crafting couldnt be any easier or any speedier ... your gonna spend most of your time Cleaning the labels off your jars and waiting for the paint and glue to dry

The price could  be next to nothing if you used jars you had around the house ... Pickle Jars( be sure to clean and air them out well though so your candy doesnt taste like pickles)  & apple sauce jars could be wonderful sizeand if you ask around I bet your friends and neighbors would be glad to unload some of their trash on you LOL.

And here is another cute idea that I think would be a cute addittion to any candy buffett and I am actually planning to make one of these for the kitchen... ( a ivy bowl gumball "machine)
BAsic Idea.. Terra Cotta Pot and Saucer Ivy Bowl.. Decorative knob or finisher... Paint it up glue it on

    Here is a simple one

Your very welcome.... I have no idea why i did not think ofDoing something like this before my wedding ( i have a ton of recycled jars around my house posings as craft storage and Banks) Never would have ever thought to glue it to a candle stick though LOL but I was hoping someone would like the idea and possible save youself some money with the Apocathery Alternatives here

But save those jars ladies that is the #1 most useful thing to recycle and repurpose around the house inside and out.

I really like these! Especially the dollar tree ones. Some of the other ones look time consuming and like the costs probably add up....usually ROSS or TJ Maxx will have apothecary jars for around 12.99

    What a great idea!

My mom and I started garage saleing together last fall and I found some awesome apothecary jars for around $1. Now that is spring, we started going again and are on the hunt for some more. One of the ones I purchased is being sold in Marshalls for $19.99.

Wow!  This is one of those things I see and wonder why on earth I didn't think of that!

I've been lucky to find a good assortment of the tilted candy jar style glass containers at work that were abandoned by other weddings and groups along the way.  I'll be using some vases and other containers I already owned as well and shouldn't need to buy anything.

This is so helpful!  Getting bookmarked just in case :)

All of these are great ideas. I already have all of my apothecary/candy jars but I know some other bees will find this useful. I really like the ones with the Dollar Tree candlesticks and the pickle jars.

These are great - I'm doing small succulent plants in glass jars with river rocks that will double as centerpieces AND favors, and these are great ideas for the different heights and styles I'm aiming for. Thanks!

I am so glad that You guys found this useful and inspiring...

Im pretty crafty and resourcful but I would have never thought to just stickanything other than a candle on a candlestick to make it into a pedestal" candle vase jar etc" It can easily glam anything up

Congrats to those that have found your jars on the cheap.... when i was searching for my wedding I could only find the really small ones for less than $30 ( or ones online cost as much to ship as they did to buy)

I really like the canisters on the pedestals, but all I can think of is Little Kid Who Wants Candy + Tall Jar on Unattached Base + Cement Venue Floor = Giant Mess of Glass Shards
