I’m still making some modifications to our budget and I was wondering how much do most people spend on their favors for their guests. I’m trying to figure out what’s more economical – buying a small item for each guest or just doing a donation or something in their name. If you do the donation route, how much did you donate? If you did the small gift route, what did you get so that it didn’t blow your budget? We have 150 guests.

I originally budgeted $4.00 per person for favours. However, I decided to go the edible route, and am going to do mini donuts in little boxes. I found the boxes in a clearance bin for $8.00 for 50, and then the donuts are $40.00 for 200 donuts. So, $56.00! Plus maybe a few dollars for decorating up the boxes. Donuts are my favourite thing, and I’m marrying a police officer, so it seemed kind of cute.

We’re doing small favor boxes with one piece of handmade chocolate per guest, and we’re closing the boxes with “Team Bride” and “Team Groom” buttons. All together it will be about $2.50 per person, so about $500 total.

I budgeted for $1 a favor, but they ended up being .20 a piece, so $30 for 150. We are getting married in a garden and our theme is butterflies, so we folded 150 paper origami boxes and then filled them with a wildflower seeds mix that is suppose to attract butterflies. Oh and we wrapped them in ribbon. They look nice.
