maybe try and find a public park and find a cterer who will supply the tables and things? ambulance halls are usually cheaper, but then you'd have to find everything. sorry im not help!
@SG: How many people are you inviting to your wedding? If you want to go on the cheap and you are inviting 100+, try things like VFW halls or something. Usually, for that type of service, you'll have to pay at LEAST $1500. I spent about $1,700 on the rental hall with linens, clean up staff, set up, dishes, speakers for an iPod, and they let us bring our own centerpieces, our own food, and we had the space for the entire day. (I unfortunately don't live in your area) But do some digging. I had about 130 people, spent $1600 on the food (buffet), had relatives make the bridal/groom's cakes, had an aunt make cookies, and did almost everything else myself.
If you are having 50 guests or less, maybe a local college would have a nice room you could rent? My cousin did that, and the school even had a chapel. It was a lovely, intimate wedding. But for a budget of only $3,000.... I hope you are having a small wedding. Here, this link was a huge inspiration for me, you should check it out: http://2000dollarwedding.com/2008/07/from-conception-to-reception.html
I hope you find something that works for you.
I've never organized an event here, but I met someone recently who is having her wedding reception at the Coppell Community Center. It looks like you can bring in your own caterer and alchohol. Clean-up doesn't look to be included, but your caterer should be doing that anyway. http://www.ci.coppell.tx.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=830&Itemid=1205
Good luck!
Also, South Side on Lamar has some event space for cheap. It would be a little different, since it's also residential, but the price is definitely right!

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I am trying to find a reception location that supplies tables, chairs, linens, and cleanup for under 1k and allows outside catering and alcohol. Any one have ideas? Anywhere in DFW area. No further north than Celina. I have a total ok 3k to spend for everything. Not sure if its even doable. I am also looking for a party tent around 40x40 for under 600$.
Thanks!
