    Hi ladies,

As I am getting heavily into the planning process, I was just curious in terms of budget, do y'all have any regrets about things that you spent money on in the end? Stuff that your thought would be a great idea but in the end was a waste?

    Thanks ladies!

Nope. I didn't waste money at all. I spent it on the things I really truly needed and cut lots of corners wherever I could. The majority of our budget went to food and our venue, and I wasn't about to compromise on that. For me, real flowers, real flower centerpieces, and the cake were easy to shed away a couple grand.

Yes, but they are small in comparrison to the big picture.

$90 on table linens that I will not be using. I'm hoping I can sell on weddingbee classifieds.

$20 on escort cards that I will not be using.

I think my biggest regret so far is spending $1200 + $325 for alterations on my dress. Don't get me wrong, I am in love with my dress, I just never thought I'd be one of those girls to spend that much. I was hoping to get something simple - more in the $500 or less range.

yes, a few things. all having to do with my outfit. i had someone custom-make me a marabou wrap, and they just simply didn't do what i asked them to do. i was too polite (pushover!) to tell them it was all wrong. so i have a $150 custom-made marabou wrap that still needs reshaping, or it will never be worn. oh, and.... duh! i'm a two-dress bride! i have a custom-made dress that may never see the light of day, too. (I'm blanking that one out of my memory, i guess.) in fact, when it comes to my wedding clothes, i really should have stuck to things that could be tried on before being ordered. i love the concept of truly custom/bespoke, but in reality i've had two very expensive misfires.

i've also bought about 4 pairs of shoes for the wedding -- but those i don't feel bad about because they can surely be sold on eBay, and none were outrageous.
