I am new to weddybee and so far have found this site very helpful with all of the advice 🙂
We are on a tight budget ($2000) and our debating between an elopement or an intimate budget friendly wedding/reception.
Some people have posted about brunch receptions. I was just wondering if any of you fellow bees are having a brunch reception or have had one?
What time did you have the ceremony and then the brunch reception?
How many people did you have at your reception?
Did you have any music or your first dance etc at your brunch reception?
Did you have any alcohol at your reception? I’ve heard of mamoso bars (not sure if I spelt that right)
What did you/or are you doing after the brunch reception?
Thanks for all the advice/tips!!

I didnt have one but I think its a suoer cute idea!!!! We did just throw a HUGE rehearsal dinner the day before our wedding and we did our own brunch for the day of our wedding for both of the bridal parties. Mimosa Bars are super cute!!! You just need Champagne (it doesnt have to be the pricey-stuff) and different kinds of juice! You can save money by getting orange-pineapple- and fruit punch juice from concentrate (the frozen cans). You could even coordiante your colors to go with that theme so that your mimosa bar acts as a decoration as well! Yellows-golds-oranges and pinks would be super pretty. You can do stawberrys and rasberries to put in to the drinks or put them on cute skewers (super easy to DIY). Not a fan of those flovors/ colors? You could do champagne with lemonade- iced tea- and mint…Super yummy and classy! You could do yellow-gold or brown-and green or mint as your colors? Like blue and green? Do kiwis limes and blueberries! The possibilities are endless!
You can save lots of money buy getting food and alcohol in BULK at Sam’s club. Surely someone you know has a card you can barrow if you dont have a membership. Sam’s also has LOTS of bakery items like mini apple and rasberry danishes, cream cheese croisants, and muffics etc…
It would be as simple as placeing them on plates! 🙂
You can get cute glass containers to serve the juice in at the dollar store or the craft store or online. Or if you drink wine-save the bottles and remove the lables! We did that to put sweet tea in for our wedding 🙂
You can get personalized champagne flutes for your guest to dring out of that double as take home favors for pretty cheap too!
Creme puffs make a fancy and delisious brunch food too!
Its your wedding-if you still want a first dance and music go for it! Do whatever is important to you and your FI! I hope you have an absolutley beautiful day!
These are just what came to the top of my mind when I read your post. I hope some of this helps 🙂 Congrats on your wedding!

Another bee (sorry, I can’t remember who) had a pancake station with loads of different flavour syrups. You could do a waffle station too. Omelettes are also really yummy & fruit baskets. Served with mimosas & coffee.
