I think the norm for NYC is $150 and above.
You can find lower prices if you are willing to have a Friday or Sunday wedding or sometimes even Saturday day weddings have lower prices.
Mrs. Snow Pea was married at 3 West Club, which is also the Women Republican Club. They have very reasonable rates in the $125 range (2007 price).
We were married at Battery Gardens on a Sat night so it was $160ish, but they have much lower rates for Sat day weddings and other alternative dates in the $120 range.
Manhattan Penthouse has really reasonable rates for NYC ($115 - $150). Just make sure to ask any place you call in NYC if the base price includes gratuity (usually 21-22%) and tax. The industry calls this ++ and it basically eats your budget b/c most places tax you On Top Of the gratuity.
Good luck!
i paid $140pp at the Lighthouse but had a saturday day wedding. including the "++" that habibi stated above - it ended up being closer to $180ppl.
For you to get to $125pp (all in), the NYC rates would have to start at around $100. I did not come across anything like this when I was looking for venues but maybe others have... good luck!
If that is alot, then you could always opt for a destination wedding!
I saw some pics from the lighthouse before on another site..it is very pretty btw.
Best wishes.
Have you tried Bubby's in Brooklyn? I know it's not Manhattan, but the prices are pretty reasonable. The coordinator JoJo is super helpful and the space is gorgeous. Plus there are great views of the Manhattan & Brooklyn Bridges and the Empire State Building.

Hey there!
I am having a daytime wedding at Battery Gardens (which I think fits your price range), but was also looking at getting the most bang for my buck. I would also take a look at the following places: Alger House, New Leaf Cafe, Bubby's (as was mentioned before).
i would also take a look more restaurants depending on how many people you are thinking of having. Also if you are open to a daytime wedding I think prices will definitely be cheaper. Good luck! There is something out there for you!
That is a tough budget for a saturday night. The best places I found were Manhattan Penthouse which was 140 pp plus $5K and The Puck Building which was $180 pp and $1500. I am guessing you can get better deals for day or friday/sunday weddings. The one thing I didn't realize was that these costs were about half of my total expenses - everything is more here - photographers, flowers, hair/makeup, etc. We ended up getting married in the Hudson Valley....
110/125 in Manhattan will be pretty tough!
Thanks so much for all of these - I'm going to explore all of the options.

So...looking at venues in NJ, I'm seeing things like $110, $125/person. Is this impossible to find in NYC? I'm thinking for about 150 people. Want to do a sit-down dinner and open bar. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or recommendations.
Thanks!
