I am 3 weeks post op c section and I’ve noticed a bulge over my incision, like a hardish ridge. I’m worried I caused this by doing too much too soon.
Does anyone else have this and did it go away after time?

is it just like a hard scar over the incision? if so, i have this over all my scars. rub some vitamin e oil on it, it should soften a bit.

Um, maybe see your doctor? I don’t have kids, but that doesn’t sound good to me. Better safe than sorry.

Check with your doctor, I don’t remember having that with my c-section. I remember I could feel the dissolvable stitches for a long time though.

This sounds like scar tissue buildup. What helps is actually massaging the scar. I have had several knee surgeries and each doctor has given me the same advice.

the scar from my first c-section felt that way. Almost two years later, it was still really red and thick.
My doctor told me it could either be just the way my skin heals and there’s nothing to do. Or it could also be the fact that my labor was so long and that there was infection.
Either way, not much could be done to help it; except that with my 2nd c-section, they removed the old scar and now I have a brand new one. We’ll see how it turns out.
I would see my doctor right away… I didn’t do it on time last time and regret it.

I would get it checked out – I am 10 weeks post c-section, and there’s always been a bulge of swollen tissue over the incision site, but it was never hard. It looks like swelling over the incision site. The other c-section ladies I know had/have the same thing!

MsKeee: I know this thread is old, but I had that too and it went away fast with massage.
