@Karenina:  Awww, that sucks. I have tummy troubles so I can’t wear tight clothes either, I understand what you’re going through. On the other hand, you will be very active on your wedding day so comfort is super important anyway.

You can do an a line! It’s not too attention grabbing, and will still stay off your tummy

@Karenina:  I am willing to bet that you will look AMAZING in the fitted dress of your dreams! If you want a fitted dress, go for it!

Don;t worry… Spanx don’t make THAT much of a difference! You do not want to be in pain on your wedding day!!

Who says you HAVE to wear Spanx? As fair as I’m aware, there’s no rule in the Bride’s Handbook thay says “Thou shalt wear Spanx”.

I say get the dress, be comfy and do whatever the f**k you want (within reason). Its your day and hopefully you will only have one wedding. Wear the dress you want to wear, shapewear be damned!

I totally agree with PPs that you don’t NEED Spanx.

However, for me, I found all fitted dresses to be soooo uncomfortable. I was so much comfier and happier when I popped on my smallish ballgown. So maybe try to think of it in terms of what will make you FEEL happiest, and then decide?
