We don't really have a policy re: posting "bump" on a thread...

Basically, please use your best judgement and don't abuse bumps!

Here are are some things that aren't really cool:

    * Posting bump on a post that's less than an hour old!
    * Posting bump on a thread five times in a row, when nobody has responded even once.
    * Posting a question and then ignoring all the answers you get... and then posting "bump" on the thread as your only reply.

A user recently has done all these things over the last few days.  I've deleted their posts so as not to call them out, but wanted to post about it here.

Please respect the bump!  An occasional bump is fine, but please don't abuse the bump... it's not fair to other members, who take the time to post thoughtful comments that deserve to be at the top of the boards.

    Thanks!

Thanks for posting this Mr. bee!

I agree that this is an important topic and good etiquette guidelines for posters. I guess I am bumping you up to the top now too! :)

Agree! I am guilty of doing it sometimes though-only a couple times. I'll remember this & not bump too much!!

As always Mr. Bee - thanks for staying on top of things - I noticed the serial bumping.  :)

I don't bump too much. I figure that if not a lot of people respond, I must've posted a boring topic or something and just move on. LOL Tongue out

    *bump*

    Just kidding :)

Thanks, Mr. Bee! In my opinion, if you are going to bump your post, say something! Respond to others who have posted, or say something new, ask a new question, etc. Don't just post *bump*! If you can't think of anything to say, you probably shouldn't bump!

Thanks for clarifying this.  I recently noticed a "bump" the original poster had done, very shortly after the last reply and as her only response to the thread, magically disapear - and was kind of glad, as I thought it was kind of rude.

I'm guilty of this... But only when we were waiting for Corgi to get back with those after pictures!!! I hope this was an appropriate use of bump, lol. :)

I second that motion!  I always wondered what "bump" meant!  Thanks for the clarification and rules!!
