Lace runner?

You could also use a nice piece of plywood as your “runner”

Wood slice table runners.. although this would take AWHILE to make.

Doile table runners..

Moss table runner

@MichiganGirl24:  Gotcha! There are other colors of lace you can get such as biege or apricot, I posted a few more alternatives though!

@MichiganGirl24:  what about rustic looking wood?  You could buy 2x4s (or whatever size) and age them.  I’ve seen really cool tutorials where they just hammered and whacked wood, then stained it, and it looks all aged.  Would take a little time but it’d be pretty easy…

@lolot:  Actually looking at the larger image I posted.. it almost looks as if it was a regular piece of wood that was covered in fabric to look like woodgrain.. there are a few strands of the fabric hanging out!

The pic  on the left is beautiful but it’s not a wood plank. It’s fabric printed with a wood pattern. It’s from a wedding on Style Me Pretty.

You can buy contac paper and wallpaper like this.

You can buy reed or bamboo fencing at Home Depot, Lowes, K Mart etc and cut it lengthwise into runners for a much more inexpensive version of the reed runner.

You need to ensure that you buy one with many rows of lengthwise stitching so it holds together when you cut it.
