Hi! I have a question for those of you that used burlap in your wedding. I’m making table runners and ringbearer pillows out of burlap (ie. sewing it all myself).
Now, my Q for those who have used burlap: did it make you sneeze? I don’t know if it’s in my head or not, but it feels like while I’m working with it, I feel a bit itchy and stuffed up, even sneezed a few times. I have no allergies to ANYTHING, so this is strange for me. The last thing I want at our wedding is people having allergic reactions to the decor! Gah.
Did anybody else experience this? And to make the post a bit more interesting, here is the ringbearer pillow that I made tonight:

It doesn’t bother me at all, but apparently a LOT of people are seriously allergic to it. We used it for runners for our wedding as well and almost changed plans when I learned of the potential for allergies…but didn’t have time, money, or ideas to change so we didn’t. If anyone had any problems, they didn’t say anything…I doubt they would have known it was from the burlap if they did.

I can’t help you out with this one, but cute pillow!

Hmmm, that’s what I was afraid of! Good to know that nobody had problems at your wedding, though. I wonder if it’s just sitting on a table – that it might not be as hazardous as when I’m cutting/sewing and fibres are flying everywhere. Here’s hoping!
Thanks LadyGoodman, I was happy with how it turned out!
