Hi, girls! Thanks for the feedback earlier. I was on the road and saw your comments, but responding was tough today. Anywhoo…
I followed my gut instinct and went through with the alterations re-do on the bustle. My original seamstress was none to happy and told me it was because of the design. I told her that I didn’t like it. Thankfully, she was working on a dress so a different woman helped me. My goodness, there is more than one ‘right’ way to do something!
I think the new bustle is more fitting for the overall look of the dress. First, context of the dress, front and back:
New bustle! (pls disregard my bra straps :/ )
Old, wonky bustle:
An improvement, right?

Yes! The second is much better!! Not that the first was bad, it just didn’t lay right. I love your dress!!

Oooooo I love it! I didn’t mind it when I saw the first bustle, but now seeing the second one, you made such a good choice to go back!

huge difference, wayyyyy better now, your dress is amazing by the way, i got some dress envy!

I had the same problem? Why are seamstresses so darn picky about dresses that aren’t theirs? I’m happy you stuck to your guns and got a different one. I think you made a great choice!

@ms.walter: I totally agree with you! If it were more ruffle-y all around, the original would work great. I like this new way because it mimics the look of the train.
@aberry: Thanks for the encouragement…I’m so fickle that as I put this post together I thought I might have made a mistake. Could you imagine if I went and had them re-do it back they way they had it at first? I’m a nightmare, haha 🙂
@MsEmerson: Awww, you made me blush! I’ll take that compliment, thanks 🙂

@Mrs Hedgehog: I’m learning 🙂 My normal self would just say, that’s the way it is. But dammit, I’m paying for this ish! This is a new style of dress and they have very limited experience with it, give me a freaking break. And I had the courtesy to get it changed before they started working on it. Sheesh.

Ooh, I get it now! 🙂 Beautiful bustle! Yay for getting it right!

@pengoala: Awww, thanks! I’m happy that someone at the shop was able to ‘get’ what I was trying to accomplish.
And I didn’t get to tell you on the other post, but your comment about the veil really made my day today 🙂

@pink.sequins: 🙂 I’m glad. I probably won’t go with such a long veil, even though I just love how they look, so I am living vicariously! I’m still so happy for you that you ended up with this dress! I’m sad I’m missing this Norcal gettogether tomorrow – I have friends coming in town and just can’t get away to hang out with y’all. Have a great time!

I love it and am so glad you spoke up about how you felt and got it fixed!

This way is way way way better! I guess i’d better make sure someone takes good pictures of my bum so i can double check it like you did!

i’m just checking this out…. i had to after NDBee said you were gonna punch some b*(#%!$ lol
so the first one isn’t bad looking…. but the second is like ‘oh my goodness thats beautiful’ and then going back to the first one again i didn’t even slightly like it anymore

Wow… vast improvement! Looks like it was made that way =)
