I’ve uploaded this pic before, this time I have a different question. How in the heck do I bustle this sh*t???? The train is asymmetrical which I didn’t even realize until after I bought the dress and my mom took this pic. The dress shop doesn’t allow pictures until after you buy the dress, and no one thought to tell me the train wasn’t normal. I couldn’t tell with the mirrors because I kept sashying and moving around. Hehe. Anyway, I researched different types of bustles, but nothing on what to do with this style. When it’s al bustled up, I’d like the embroidery to still show and make it look symmetrical. But with how it comes off the side, I just don’t know. There is also a ton of layers of crap I don’t even know about. I’m going to take it to a seamstress, but I’m pretty picky, and I don’t want anyone to ruin my dress or do it in a way I don’t like. I’d like to go in being able to tell her what I want. So bee friends, this is where you come in! Ideas please!

aoppenhuizen: Mine was layers and layers of strips of chiffon with a similar (But shorter) train. Mine was all pulled up to the side – it wasn’t even across the back, but it was the only way to do it without having a 20 point bustle (which i wasn’t paying for)

MsGinkgo: Do you have a picture you could show me? I’d love to see what a side bustle looks like.

aoppenhuizen: I don’t 🙁
I didn’t take any during the fittings and there are no good ones of the bustle during the wedding (because my BMs did it wrong…I didn’t tell them how to do it ahead of time and they were confused).
That said…I do have my dress at home…there’s nothing that says I can’t put it back on to take a picture right?
I’ll see what I can do

If you get the chance, that would be nice. Don’t go out of your way unless you just wanna try your dress on again 🙂

I was going to suggest a side-sling bustle but with the beading I don’t know how it would look. I would ask the seamstress to show you how it might look though. You can see an example on this website:
